The Performance Trap: Honouring Where You Are vs. Forcing Where You Want to Be
Danny is a Movement Development Practitioner who has been helping people build from where they are — not where they think they should be — since 2019. Her work grew out of sheer curiosity and a refusal to accept that the only paths after graduation were rehab, medicine, or teaching.

Danny is a Movement Development Practitioner who has been helping people build from where they are — not where they think they should be — since 2019. Her work grew out of sheer curiosity and a refusal to accept that the only paths after graduation were rehab, medicine, or teaching. When the pandemic hit, she spent the summer developing a youth program proposal for the Western Rowing Team, a pipeline designed to capture new recruits after the national training centre relocated to BC. That project opened the door to working across various provincial and national sporting organizations, and it was through adapting her knowledge across those disciplines that she eventually developed her own approach. Rather than specializing people into a specific sport or discipline, she meets them where they are in their life and builds from there.
The Bikepacking Summit marks her first appearance in the endurance cycling world, a space she's followed closely for years and one that reflects exactly the kind of athlete she builds for — someone willing to go long, go hard, and figure it out along the way.
Fun Facts

- Given my schooling background, lots of people assume I can only write academically, when in reality, writing poetry is one of my favourite ways to express myself.
- From grade 7 to my first year of university, I played the alto saxophone in concert, jazz, and eventually marching band.
