Rob, known to many as ThruRider, is the founder of ThruRider.Bike, a specialized resource for bikepacking coaching and adventure travel. Based in Toronto, he transitioned from a three-decade career as an IT executive to becoming a professional ultra-endurance athlete and coach.

With 35 years of competitive cycling experience, including five years focused specifically on the complexities of bikepacking, Rob brings a wealth of practical knowledge to his clients. He is a two-time participant in the Tour Divide, an experience that has given him a deep understanding of the preparation, logistics, and grit required to tackle the world’s most demanding ultra-endurance challenges.

Rob’s coaching philosophy uniquely sits at the intersection of technology and adventure. Leveraging his background in IT and video production, he mentors others in "Roam, Record, Release: Cinematic Storytelling on the Move." This specialized curriculum teaches adventurers how to capture, edit, and share their journeys while they are still on the trail, rather than waiting until the trip is over.

Whether working with beginners planning their first overnight trip or seasoned riders preparing for trans-continental races, Rob is dedicated to sharing his expertise to help others ride further. When he isn't coaching or producing content for the Thru-Rider YouTube channel, he lives in Toronto with his family, where he continues to plan his next big adventure.
